As many other reviewers pointed out, it's best not to buy meat here. Often the meat is green tinted, or a sickly brown. The produce is okay, nothing note worthy. Typical to see of grocery stores if they are the last stop, or one of the last stops, for produce trucks.
The place is nothing remarkable, on the whole has an outdated feel. The self check-out machines are very early knock off models, and quite slow to respond. The cashier lanes have not been updated in at least ten years, and are worn out around the edges. The machines the cashiers use are chunky and slightly discolored from age. Belts are ragged around the edges.
There's very little variety in the deli, absolutely no healthy choices for quick lunches. Astounding amounts of fried chicken, potatoes, and macaroni is the daily fare. On Wednesdays they serve very dry, overcooked steaks. Unless you specifically ask for your steak to be cooked a certain way, which requires a wait, best plan not to be in a hurry.
Your Deli is tops they fried me up fresh chicken so it wouldn't be cold when I got home I live in Olathe and I work in Shawnee so it was a joy to get home and eat fresh Fried Chicken that wasn't cold I'm keeping your phone number in my phone to do this again thank you
This is the only chain grocery store I know of that makes it's sackers put bits of paper card stock with their names on them in customers bags. I don't know what the purpose of this really serves. Neither the sackers or the customers seem to care, and the kids that sack often just play toss with the card packs.
Clean and friendly with a good selection. Not a huge store, so it's good for quick visits and plenty of selfcheck stations too.
The bathroom is not often cleaned daily, I don't recommend using their facilities unless it's an emergency. There's periods where stains of fecal matter stay on the toilets and stall walls for days. The only care I see taken is to change the trashcan, not much else.
I'm not going to say you shouldn't avoid this store at all costs. It is what it is, a convenient quick stop for necessary groceries for the small community around it. The staff are friendly, the managers are a tad odd, but helpful. The sackers are easily distracted kids, who don't seem to get quality inspiration and encouragement from employees to engage with customers.
Clean and well-kept. Nice selection and helpful staff.
Three stars for simply being a stable go to when in need, but four or five would require effort on their part to move into the current decade, and update their store.
I am beyond frustrated by my experience at this Price Chopper. I attempted ordering a cake two days in a row and got no where! I went in on an evening and the gentleman working started my order the next day I went back to finish my order and they said the decorator left 15 minutes before me. I tried explaining what I needed to the lady manager working behind the cake counter. She went on to tell me that her cake decorator was new and could not make what I needed.... We finally found some middle ground that she thought the new decorator could perform for me. After I decided that would be ok, she told me that I would have to return to the store AGAIN with a printed out photo on what I was wanting or that she couldn't help me. I live 20 mins away from this location and had already made two trips to try and order a Birthday cake for my three year old. I was not about to make a third trip back to the store to try and order a cake she didn't even know her decorator could create. During the whole process the lady was not friendly to me and had a rude attitude about her. I told her that I would have to order my cake somewhere else because I'm not running around in circles again for something that is basic and should be easy for them to accomplish. She rolled her eyes. I have bought all of my cakes at this location and never had an issue. Because of this experience, I will no longer be taking my business to this store and I will not suggest that anyone else orders there either! - A highly disappointed customer
