Great place to go for a walk or bicycle ride. The Nelson island loop is not compete due to storm damage. Part of the trail has dropped into the creek. However the trail going south has just been refinished. It's beautiful.
Small park, not much to see on its own. Location is right by train tracks, a road and a landfill. The Halley trail is probably neat but was closed when I was there mid-September 2016.
My family visited this small park as part of our ongoing quest to find new playgrounds to play at. The playground area was very nice and well-maintained with lots of mature trees nearby for shade. It is close to the train tracks, but they are on an elevated bridge and the bike trail passes underneath, so I really didn't feel that it was a safety concern for my young children. Overall we had a great time and would love to return in the summer to picnic.
So far so good, some construction so I hope it means more extended paths. I can't wait to see it in the spring and fall.. I enjoy walks and hikes very much.
