When we checked the car out, he said there was a little more than 1/2 tank of gas in the car and we'd just call it 1/2. I thought that was nice. He also mentioned the fuel charge he had of $2.08 per gallon which meant I didn't have to fill the car back up again and the cost would be cheaper. I liked that. I said I would accept that.
When I checked my email, I found that I was charged for a gallon of gas and not the $2.08 that Dustin had mentioned, but a whopping $3.43, which is higher than the most expensive premium gas around. And I thought Dustin had said he was going to just say I had 1/2 tank of gas in the car, but when I saw the receipt, it said fuel out 9/16 and fuel in 1/2.
All in all, I was disappointed with my experience, but because of this, I'll be more informed next time.
The worst experience ever. I had reservation through Expedia, and when I arrived they told me that they don't have enough cars to rent. I told them that I had a confirmed reservation. They said that they understand, but they can't do anything.
I originally went in to rent a car for about a week, as I didn't know how long my car would be in for repairs. Dustin checked me in and I have nothing bad to say about him. He offered several things to me and a few I accepted and a few declined.
I needed a short term rental inn order to attend my high school reunion, while we were temporarily down to one car. Enterprise had a weekend special that fit my needs. Marcus sent me an email the day before, to verify my reservation. Lance was extremely friendly and efficient when I arrived to check out my car. Highly recommend!!
I ended up taking the car back after only a day, because my car was repaired a lot sooner than I had anticipated. When I pulled up, someone was outside to check me in. We didn't even go inside, which I thought was a little strange. He had his tablet and we were talking while he checked me in. He never said a thing to me about anything I was going to be charged for, so I thought it was just going to be a one day rental charge and be done.
I didn't expect ANY gas charges, but because the 9/16 was there, I was charged for one gallon of gas. I only drove the car 20 miles. Surely it would get better gas mileage than that. Dustin said he could only credit the $3.43 gas charge, which I thought was the least he could do.
I always recieve high-quality service from this Enterprise branch (Nieman Rd. in Shawnee). The cars are clean and they work with me to make sure I get the size car I need for my trip. One thing I wish they would do is make sure renters understand HOW to use the vehicle before leaving the lot - or at least point out where the major features are. This last time, the car I rented smelled like someone had smoked in it. They offered to get me a different one - even if it was bigger - without charging me. Excellent customer service all around.
He said he would email my receipt to me, not even letting me see it before hand. I could have asked to see it, but I think it's good customer service to at least show the customer what they are paying for, so they don't find out the sad details when they check their email. That's where I think the bait and switch came in.
I was less than happy with my rental experience this time around. I've rented from the same place before, and I've also rented from other Enterprise locations and this time around it seemed like a kind of bait and switch deal. I'll explain.
He said he up sized me to a slightly larger car, because I was wanting the smallest possible, to get the compact charge. I also wanted to use my American Family discount but he said using the Enterprise charges would be better in my situation. I took his word for it.
I was able to upgrade from an economy car to an intermediate SUV the day before my reservation and for a very small fee. The SUV was very nice. The customer service was even nicer. When I returned the car they took me home. It was great! Will use them from here on out
Unfortunately, he only credited my account $263.46, which seems greedy. He might have thought my complaining might have seemed minuscule, but I think his even smaller credit shows even more about him and Enterprise itself.
